What is a Token?

A Token is the unique, anonymized ID given to an individual in a database, by Databank, as a replacement for personal information (PII) while Datasets are being analyzed and matched (pending authorization) within Data Republic's technology. The Token thus represents a unique identifier which allows insights from attributes to be captured, without disclosing personal information.

No two unique Tokens are the same, so the same individual from two different companies cannot be matched by their Token. Only Databank holds access to Master Token capabilities in order to match Token ID’s after a Data Product has been developed and authorized by both Data Contributor parties and Data Republic.

You can read more information about Databank on the FAQ section of the Databank website
